eli's books

I'm a librarian.

Bossypants

Bossypants - Tina Fey it was not as funny as i thought it was going to be. i think part of the reason was because it was an audiobook and the tone at times sounded like, 'i've told this story a million times before and i can't wait to finish it'.

The Black Sheep Sheik (Harlequin Intrigue)

The Black Sheep Sheik (Harlequin Intrigue) - Dana Marton the best title evah and pretty much what you expect for a plot.

How to Buy a Love of Reading

How to Buy a Love of Reading - Tanya Egan Gibson I feel like I should re-read the Great Gatsby.

Beyond the Highland Mist (The Highlander Series, Book 1)

Beyond the Highland Mist (The Highlander Series, Book 1) - Karen Marie Moning like a car wreck, i couldn't stop reading

The Wild Rose

The Wild Rose - Jennifer Donnelly Sadly not as good as the first two in the series. I was so excited to see this finally come out but it was just too long, drawn out and a little far fetched.

Gregor the Overlander (Underland Chronicles)

Gregor the Overlander - Suzanne Collins Kind of disappointing considering the quality of her other books.

A Visit from the Goon Squad

A Visit from the Goon Squad - Reminded me of Aaron Cometbus. I liked chapters 4, 10 and 12 and 12 the best.

Overbite

Overbite - Meg Cabot Meh, falls flat, especially the end.

Northlanders TP Vol 05 Metal

Northlanders Vol. 5: Metal and Other Stories - Brian Wood, Riccardo Burchielli, Fiona Staples, Becky Cloonan I liked the Sea Road and The Girl in the Ice best.

Heads You Lose

Heads You Lose - 'Lisa Lutz', 'David Hayward' Gave it 50 pages and couldn't stand the between chapter letters.

Harriet the Spy

Harriet the Spy - one of my all time favorites. I relate to Harriet more than any other fictional character.

Hatchet

Hatchet - Gary Paulsen far deeper than i remember it.

Blankets

Blankets - Craig Thompson I so rarely ever re-read a book. I first read this book while at Penn State in the summer of 2003. I remember going to the Paterno library, checking it out and sitting on a bench on the Mall and read all 582 pages in one sitting. It was great. While on vacation in Portland, we attended the Stumptown Comic Book Convention where I bought my long desired copy. I had to mail it back home because it wouldn't fit in my backpack. I finally picked it up again. It was just as good and perhaps even better, to my relief.

As I Lay Dying: The Corrected Text

As I Lay Dying - William Faulkner "But I aint so sho that ere a man has the right to say what is crazy and what aint. It's like there was a fellow in every man that's done a-past the sanity or the insanity, that watches the sane and the insane doings of that man with the same horror and the same astonishment. "

Drinking at the Movies

Drinking at the Movies - Julia Wertz loved. simply put.

Dead Reckoning

Dead Reckoning (Sookie Stackhouse, #11) - Charlaine Harris while i finished the book, it was severely lacking
